Well, the facts are out. The wildly popular, Swiss-made aluminum bottles made by Sigg are hazardous to our health. If you ditched all of your evil Nalgenes in favor of Siggs prior to August of 2008 (as my family did) then you have been enjoying your filtered water with a little extra sumpin’ sumpin’ – BPA (Bisphenol-A). I was able to overlook the fact that the bottles were relatively expensive and that they dented like a sonofabitch with even the gentlest of use (Hey, they were good for the planet and our health-not to mention being Swiss!) but I don’t like being hoodwinked. Americans may get a bad rap but we are a very health-conscious people. We aren’t just hanging around, sipping cocoa, eating fondue and lounging in The Alps (like some people I won’t mention…). As far as I’m concerned, the Swiss have some explaining to do. What’s next? News that all of that delicious Swiss chocolate is fattening? So please Sigg, replace our old, leeching bottles so that we can get back to the business of hanging around, eating Velveeta and sipping BPA-free Kool-aid while lounging on our couches. Thanks. Or should I say, “Danke schön”?
